Elisa was born on the beautiful Island of Jersey and it was soon clear that the Cañas family had got themselves a child who loved to talk! Her mum sent her to speech and drama classes to try and ‘get it out of her system’ but this just seemed to fuel the fire and the family were finally given peace when Elisa was awarded a scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.
Elisa continued to talk throughout her training (occasionally
bursting into song and doing the odd tap dance with jazz hands thrown in)
and after graduating from SYTS was accepted into “Laine Theatre Arts”
Musical Theatre College in Epsom, Surrey.
The idea was that here she would learn to do a few other things other than
just talk, like dance and look pretty. However, one day a booking came into the agency which saved Elisa from the trauma of ballet. So, throwing hairspray, hairnet and Pointe shoes aside she jumped on the bus and was on her way to her first voiceover session. And there was no looking back!
